Thomas's is a husband and wife partnership with an excellent support team. Our principal business activity is the buying and selling of modern jewellery.
The Partners are Judy Thomas, BA, FGA, & Geoff Thomas DGA, FGA dist, P.J. Val. Dip. We both worked within the business, and are, as they say, multi tasked. Judy has taken a sabatical but retains special responsibility for staff, while I, Geoff, do the admin, website, advertising, buying and general dogsbody. Other wise we both can and at times do everything within the business.

The business was formed in 1976 and opened in 1977, the year of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's Silver Jubilee. We opened as "The Silver Jewellery Shop", on Otley Street in Skipton, selling -yes you've guessed it- Silver Jewellery. One third of our stock then was from Georg Jensen, and we have maintained a strong bond with the Danish design company ever since.
With the increase in stock of gold jewellery, and watches we re-branded ourselves as Thomas's { 's as we are possessive and plural} by 1979, not realising that the internet would shun the apostrophe!

We are members of The National Association of Goldsmiths the jewellers trade organisation.
We buy very competitively, as you can see from our prices, this is
because Thomas's are members of
Jewellers of Excellence, Britain's exclusive and premier
jewellery and watch wholesale buying co-operative. Representing 35
jewellers throughout Great Britain and Ireland. We are known in
the jewellery trade world-wide as The Houlden Group . The combined
retail turnover of the group has recently been estimated as well in excess
of £155,000,000, though I hasten to say we are the tiddlers.
